One of the oldest and most prestigious amateur golf championship in the country, the 103rd Amateur Championship headed back to Black Diamond Ranch for the first time in over 20 years.
Qualifying began with over over 1,000 players hoping to earn a spot in the championship. In the end, 124 players punched their ticket, joining 44 exempt competitors.
The 103rd Amateur Championship began on Thursday with players competing on the Quarry and Ranch Courses at Black Diamond Ranch.
The first round concluded on Friday morning with Manny Girona, Dustin Taylor and Greyson Porter taking the lead at 3-under 69.
Friday saw players fighting to play the weekend, with a cut to low 70 after 36 holes.
Three players sit at the top of the leaderboard after the second round. Jordan Batchelor, Greyson Porter and Paul Royak all finished the day 3-under 141 with a one-shot lead over the field.
Lev Grinberg, the youngest player in the field (13), made the cut, finishing the day in a tie for 18th at 2-over 146
Players looked to make a move on Saturday at Black Diamond Ranch.
Michael Mays fired a 7-under 65 on Saturday to take the lead at 103rd Amateur Championship at Black Diamond Ranch. The Winter Park native holds a two-shot lead over the field at 9-under 207.
Greyserman survived that playoff and was crowned the Amateur champion on Sunday at Black Diamond Ranch. He posted a final-round 62 to capture the championship at 10-under 278.
The 17-year-old became the first junior golfer to win the Amateur since Gabe Lench in 2014.
"It's my first time playing in this event, but I know how much history it has. I know how many good players have won this tournament and I know I am one of the youngest to win it. It was such a good field this week, so it means a lot to win. It shows me how good I am."
