Ninety players traveled to Mission Inn Resort & Club for a chance at the 91st Women's Amateur Championship title.
The championship began on Friday and featured a format change, due to the rescheduling of the event, with players competing in 54 holes of stroke play for the Women’s Amateur title.
Madison Hewlett held the first-round lead at the Women’s Amateur Championship, posting a bogey-free 67.
Saturday saw players fighting their way to the top of the leaderboard at Mission Inn.
Hewlett continued her strong play on Saturday with a 2-under 70 to finish the day at the top of the leaderboard.
The final round on Sunday saw players battling to add their name to the Women's Amateur trophy.
Beginning the day 10 shots back of the lead, Schofill posted a five-under 67 in the final round. Thinking she had finished a few shots back of the leaders still out on the course, it was Schofill’s dad who told her she had the clubhouse lead at 1-under.
This is Schofill's first FSGA championship victory, while she becomes the first Auburn University player to win the Women’s Amateur Championship.
A big thanks to Mission Inn Resort & Club and their staff for opening their doors to this historic championship.
