The oldest and most prestigious Women's Championship in the state took center stage at Streamsong.
One-hundred and fifty-one players began a quest for the 93rd Women's Amateur Championship.
Players began the championship, battling for one of 64 spots in match play with 36 holes of stroke play on the Blue and Red courses
There was an 10-person playoff for the final five spots in the Round of 64. Lanlan Sun was the last player in, earning the No. 64 seed with a par on the second playoff hole.
Five of the top-10 seeded players remain following the Round of 32 on the Blue course.
Highlighting the field heading into the Round of 16 was two-time Girls’ Junior champion, Kaitlyn Schroeder and Bailey Shoemaker, who just came off a top-50 finish at the U.S. Women’s Open Championship.
The field was whittled down to four players after the Round of 16 and Quarterfinal matches.
Bailey Shoemaker would take on Casey Weienfeld for a spot in the Final, while Maisie Filler and Yoko Tai would face each other in the morning.
The final morning of the championship saw players battling it out for a spot in the Finals.
Maisie Filler and Bailey Shoemaker faced off in the final match for the Women's Amateur title.
After 130 holes of golf, it was Shoemaker who raised the Women’s Amateur trophy at the end of the day. Shoemaker defeated Filler, 3 and 2, at Streamsong to win the 93rd Women’s Amateur Championship.
Shoemaker becomes the first junior golfer to win the Women’s Amateur championship in the championship’s 93-year history.
Shoemaker raised the trophy with her father in attendance, winning a special gift for her dad on Father’s Day.
A special thanks to Streamsong Resort and their entire staff for all the hard work and helping make the 92nd Women's Amateur Championship a great one.
